Birthday Wishlist!

Hello Beautiful

So, it's my birthday next month! And, although i say i don't want to celebrate anymore now that i'm too far past 21, i still want presents, obviously, haha!

Just kidding, i'm not putting this out there for people to buy me presents, i'm just using it as a normal wishlist but as people have asked me what i would like or what i am receiving for my birthday i thought i would just share the things i'm loving at the moment in a wishlist :), so here it is:

I'll go through the items above in order from top left to bottom right and if you love anything and want to buy if for yourself or to buy as a little present for someone you know then simply click the pink writing and it will take you straight to it:

Tiara Charm // Links of London
Neon Yellow Skater Skirt // Missguided
Mega Platform Shoe // Amazon
MAC Studio Fix Fluid in Colour NC20 // MAC
Chanel Hair Mist // Selfridges
Black Skater Skirt // Amazon
You Can Sit With Us Crop // Amazon
Infinity Type Ring // Various such as Here

So basically, i have liked most of these things for a long time now:

I love my Links bracelet so i love looking through the charms, i like a lot of them on the website just now such as the hedgehog with the apple, the chic handbag and this cute little tiara. Even at 23this July, i still like to think of myself as a princess, haha!

The passport is obviously because i want to go on holiday, i'm planning on bribing my mum into paying for this one for me for my birthday as she has no idea what to get me and it is something worthwhile getting, that i actually need and will use!

Crystal bra, i'm obsessed with these just now, like literally in love. I suppose they could look trashy but i think worn in the right way they are really pretty and can really add sparkle to simple outfits. I just think they're really cute and i desperately need to get my hands on one!

This yellow skater skirt has also been on my wishlist for a while, i love absolutely anything that is yellow just now for some reason and this bright skater has to be mine! Love it and it's so affordable.

These platform shoes are massive, and might break my ankle but i think shoes like this look really cute with skinny jeans and a nice top on a night out and i need a new pair of closed toe black heels to replace my Primark ones which absolutely kill my feet like nothing else!

MAC studio fix fluid is a foundation i love and i just want to go back to it after using Max Factor for some while now, we all need a change every once in a while!

The Chanel Hair Mist obviously isn't essential ad is probably quite a waste of money as i could just use my perfume to mist through my hair, i just thought this was a cool idea for hair lovers and a good present to give anyone you know who likes this kind of thing.

Can't have too many skater skirts and i actually own loads, none of which are black! This one is particularly cheap and well worth a purchase as a wardrobe staple!

You Can't Sit With Us Crop - Literally my favourite saying and movie quote, i've wanted this top for ages and ages so quirky and simple and yet again Amazon have come up trumps! Love it.

Infinity Ring - I look at infinity rings online all the time and i think they are so cute! I have always wanted a really simple cute one maybe with a little bit of sparkle on one side or something and i love the ones that are engraved in the inside, so personal and sweet! Some i have seen online have "I Love You", "Best Friends", "Forever" or some personal sayings engraved inside just for the person you are giving to. Too cute. Probably wouldn't pay a lot for one of these unless it's for something really special, i just really like the affordable cute ones like the one i've linked above :).

So that's basically my July wishlist! Which items do you like from it?

Would you like to give or receive any of these items as a gift?

YSL Volume Effect Faux Cils Baby Doll Mascara Review!

Hey ladies!

Last weekend my £5 credit on my Debenhams beauty club card was about to run out, so as you can imagine, in a mad rush, i had to get to Debenhams and buy some makeup!

I browsed for ages as there is nothing i really wanted to get, but then i saw this little beauty and it was pretty much love at first sight, i had to have it.

It is the YSL Baby Doll Mascara, this retails for £24.50 in Debenhams but with my £5 points balance i picked it up for £19.50.

First of all, can we all just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of YSL's packaging. So simple yet effective. Packaging always draws me to a product and will often be a deciding factor in my actually buying it and YSL never fail me on that front.

The mascara itself is applied using a plastic wand with short spikes all over. Personally, plastic wands are my prefered mascara applicator over brushes and bristle wands so this was a plus for myself.

To show you one coat of this compared to my natural eyelashes with no makeup on:

No Mascara (creepy)

Left Eye Mascara, Right Eye None

Both Eyes Mascara

 From Underneath the Lashes

I think these pictures give you a good look at the coverage and the lengthening properties of the mascara and you can really see that they accentuate my lashes quite a lot.

I think the easiest way to do this is to just tell you guys my own personal pro's and con's of this mascara and you can tell me your opinions too! So here goes:

PROS

Comes in four different shades so suits a lot of different people's needs.
Beautiful packaging.
Really lengthening.
Hardly any clumping at all and no flaking so far.
Nice formula, not sticky or too wet.
Nice smell!
Pretty name, i'm a sucker for names!

CONS

The price, i really cannot justify even £19.50 on a mascara never mind it's full price of £24.50.
It in comparison to YSL Shocking, not sure if i like it better, or the same?
I also am unsure if i like it better or just the same as my much cheaper L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic.

So, although there are more Pro's than Con's and i really do like this mascara a lot, i have to admit i probably won't repurchase as, to me, this is just not worth the price. Don't get me wrong, it's lovely and it really does look good on the eyes but is it the best? In my opinion, i like it just the same as i like my all time L'Oreal fave.

I don't regret this purchase though as i love YSL products and i do love this mascara too.

Have you tried YSL Baby Doll mascara?
What are your opinions?

Bourjois BB Bronzing Cream Review!

Heeey

If you follow me on twitter you will know that i am a massive fake tan fan!

I love being bronzed. I know some people don't and they are all for embracing the white but for me, being as pale as a milk bottle is not what i am after! I get so excited when new bronzing, fake tan or tinted products come out and i have to literally try them all!

So, while i was in boots walking past the Bourjois stand i noticed this little beauty:

Here is a swatch on my hand of the product pumped straight from the bottle, rubbed in, then blended to my hand.

The colour is actually quite scary when you first pump it out of the bottle and initially i was scared to even put this on my face! But as you can see, when it is properly blended it just gives a sheer tint to my hand as if i have a subtle tan.

The product is a facial bronzer that only comes in one universal 'adapting' shade and it claims to have 8 benefits in one bottle!

These are:
1/ Evens Skin Tone.
2/ Sheer Tint.
3/ Boosts Radiance.
4/ 16 Hour Moisturisation.
5/ Smooths Skin.
6/ Prolongs Tan.
7/ SPF 15.
8/ Refreshing Sensation.
All of these are appealing qualities to me that really make me want this product so i just had to pick it up while it was on a special introductory price of £6.99.

I decided to put all eight claims of this product to the test for you guys so here goes:

Looking a lot more tanned and healthy!

I do find this product needs quite a lot of blending to achieve an acceptable colour using a very little amount of product if you begin with skin as white as mine. I don't think i would be able to wear this on my face alone with no other makeup on a normal day though as it's just not enough coverage for me, maybe if i was on holiday or had a nice tan already!

Anyway, onto testing the eight claims since i have now tried the product out!

1/Evens Skin Tone?

I already have pretty even skin tone to be honest but this does mask my little red blemishes a bit and gives a much more even, healthy complexion.

2/Sheer Tint?

So you can already see that the tint is sheer as you can still see my face, it's not cakey at all and it gives a nice subtle glow about the face. Would be amazing for a subtle sun kissed look while sunbathing on holiday as it is really light on the face.

3/ Boosts Radiance?

It does make your skin look a bit more radiant and light, it gives a sort of dewy look and makes you look a lot more fresh which i love about this.

4/ 16 Hour Moisturisation?

So i left this on all day and my skin does feel nice and soft but i don't have dry skin on my face really anyway and makeup doesn't really drastically affect the hydration of my skin usually, but extra moisturisation is always a bonus!

5/ Smooths Skin?

This one is a hard one to prove. My skin is pretty smooth anyway i think and as this product is pretty thin it's difficult to tell if it makes your skin look more smooth or not? I'd say my skin looks as smooth as my skin looked before. It definitely feels smooth and soft with this on.

6/ Prolongs Tan?

Impossible for me to say that my tan has been prolonged as i don't have a tan on my face due to Scottish weather, haha! But it does make me look like i have a subtle tan and glow about myself which i really like.

7/ SPF 15?

SPF content is a major factor for me in picking facial products so this is always a good one!

8/ Refreshing Sensation?

This one is a good one too as it does feel sort of cooling and refreshing on the skin and i think especially when it is really warm outside this will be the perfect product! It stays quite wet (not annoyingly so) on the skin which is really refreshing too.

It also claims on the bottle to have an 'Addictive Fragrance' which to me smells exactly like the Bourjois Bronzing Powder which is my all time favourite bronzer and smells delicious like chocolate!

Overall Opinions

Basically i do really love this product and i think in the Summer months when it is a lot warmer i will use this a lot more. For now, i think my face still needs a little more coverage than this gives me so i have been using it as a bronzer and contour over my usual heavy coverage foundation which looks like this:

Using it like this, i really like! It defines my cheek bones and gives me a healthy tint to my cheeks on top of my usual foundation and powder.

So, overall i really like the product both on it's own when i want a thin layer of makeup on hotter days as well as over a base of foundation as a bronzer and cheek bone contour when i want a heavier coverage.

What i would say though, is that a LITTLE product goes a VERY long way, it is a dark cream and if you use too much on skin as white as mine you do look a bit daft! So i would say work with a tiny bit at a time and build if you want more as it is easy to go overboard with this product and look a bit like an oompa loompa!

Have you tried this?
If not, will you be?

L'Oreal Diamantissime Color Riche 325 - Feeric Fuschia Review!

Hello Bellas!

For Christmas i received the 'Dress Up In Diamonds' Diamantissime collection box from L'Oreal from my lovely mother. I think this was a gift box given at Christmas for free with a purchase of L'Oreal over a certain price (correct me if i'm completely wrong!). Since my mum gave me two of my fave False Lash Telescopic mascara in my stocking at Christmas she got this box too. For some reason, i haven't even tried the products from the box yet so i thought i should get onto giving them a go!

First thing that caught my eye from the box was this lipstick in 325 Feeric Fuschia.

It is a beautiful deep pink colour and has a bit of a subtle shimmer to it on the lips. I think this is more a colour i would wear out in the evening rather than every day as it is a really bright colour on the lips and definitely a statement colour. The picture above shows the shimmer to it and you can just see how it has sort of tiny little flecks of glitter through it.

The lipstick is really pigmented and i have found it stays on a long time with really little fading which is always good especially on a night out when you are going to be eating and drinking and you want a lipstick to have staying power!

(My top layer of hair looks blue.. it's the lighting.)

The following photos are close ups of the lipstick having been on for a couple of hours, except the middle one, that's just after application:

This was a really quick review as i just had to share my love for this lippy! I don't know why i didn't open the box and try the products sooner! *slaps wrist*

I'm really excited to try the other products from the box and am already starting to love the Volume Million Lashes Diamantissime Mascara from this box which is a sparkly twist on the much loved Volume Million range, review soon!

Did you receive this Dress Up In Diamonds box at Christmas time? Do you love the products?

Massive Haul Number 2687ish..

...OK, maybe I haven't done quite as many hauls as that, but I do buy loads of new things that I can't even afford all the time, and its only manners to share them with you lot right? Rude not to!

So this is a bit of a collective beauty and fashion haul from things I have bought over the past two/three weeks. All items mentioned should still be in the shops if you want to run and pick them up!

I'm not going to do this in any particular order of shopping trip etc, I'm just going to lump it all together and let you all see for yourselves:

OK I'll start with beauty shall I? All the beauty stuff in here is a mixture of different shops, I'll just go through it all quick!

OK so here we have:
Elf Makeup Lock & Seal - £3.75 here.
L'oreal False Lash Telescopic - £10.99 here.
Max Factor Face Finity - £11.99 here.
Sure Compressed Deodorant - £2.10 here.
St Moriz Instant Glitz - £2.99 here.
Elf High Definition Powder - £6.00 here.
Soap & Glory Sit Tight - £16.50 here.

Every single one of these apart from the deodorant is a repurchase. These are all products I've loved for absolutely ages and need in my life! If you do want me to do a review on any of these so you can see the product in more detail please do let me know!

These were all a complete bargain! The small dotty tights you can just see lying at the front were £2 reduced from £5 from F&F at Tesco and I love them so much, they're a cute change from normal tights and at 100 denier they are great in this weather!

The mickey mouse printed tights were £3 from Primark and I've wanted them since I seen them on some of the little mix girls and thought they were so cute!

The wonderbra was my major bargain! I've wanted this ultimate plunge bra in nude for forever as it will look really flattering under my mesh panel dress but I just couldn't justify the £34! However, a wee trip to Tkmaxx later and I have come away with this without even looking for it for £7.99! Could not be more chuffed!

This jewellery is all just random. I bought it all in a chain within Debenhams but I can't remember if it was Warehouse or Miss Selfridge or another! However I got two ear cuffs, the one still on the backing with the skull and the cross was on sale for £1.25 from £2.50, the other one with the pastel diamontes was £2 from £4 and the necklace with the spikes and pink stones was also £2 from £4, I think! I love them all, they're not usually what I'd go for but I thought they were pretty and I've always wanted to try an ear cuff so why not!

In other accessories I also picked up these:

These were all from Primark, the studded belt was reduced to £1 from 3, the other belt with the chain I think was still £3 and the glasses were also £3. I've never worn the glasses yet as obviously the weather has been pathetic, but I thought I'd throw in a wee pic of them on, still with tags n that! Haha.

Anyway, aside from me posing wishing it was summer, I'm eventually onto the fashion:

These are all from different shops, going to try and show each one as well as possible:

Cropped Bardot top £8 from Boohoo.com

Wet look skater skirt £9.99 Missguided.

Free Spirit fringed crop top £3 Tkmaxx.

Textured white skater dress £14.99 H&M.

J'aime crop top £4 Primark.

Floral dress with crochet waist band £10 Primark.

Mint green waterfall front blazer £15 Primark.

I love all of these fashion pieces sooo much!

You will also know if you read my last post, that this I was kindly sent these beautiful shoes from Barratts:

Spiked shoe boots* Barratts.co.uk £32 here.

And that's pretty much all I've been buying!
This post has taken me ages and I need to get going to town for more shopping ;-). Expect another haul very soon!

Have you been buying anything exciting recently?

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer Review!

Heey

First of all, i haven't posted in five days, i know! I am very sorry for this but i have been feeling really really rubbish of late and am only starting to feel slightly more human today! Doing a wee fake tan and making a few new gym class plans really does make you feel better!

Anyway, today i'm reviewing two of the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer range.

I know there have been a lot of bloggers reviewing this and everyone and their granny now owns them but some of you still wanted me to share my thoughts so here they are!

When i popped into Boots, i instantly loved all of the colours in this range. I had to stop myself from buying every single one and just settled for two! I picked Nova and Galaxy.

I'll start with Nova, go onto Galaxy then do a quick bringing together of the overall product.

NOVA

I picked Nova as i hardly own any light pink lip products. I tend to shy away from these shades for some unknown reason as i really do love them but i just feel they sometimes don't suit me. Nevertheless, i bought it for a change and to try something i usually wouldn't.

This is Nova on the Lips. (My teeth look squint, they're definitely not! My smile however, really is squint! My sister loves to mention this on a daily basis!) It's a really pretty colour despite how much i thought i would hate it. I am really really excited for Spring to hurry its ass along so i can pop this on with a little spring dress! It is definitely a cute little S/S colour!

GALAXY

So Galaxy is a lot darker and is sort of a burgundy wine colour. I always go for shades like this, i think they suit me and they remind me of Rimmel's Matte Kate Moss lipstick in 107 which is my ultimate fave lipstick even before MAC's Russian Red which used to be my go-to lipstick before!

The photo's probably don't look as dark as the colour really looks in life as the lighting in my room is really bright today but it does show that it is a darker shade than Nova. The shade is less pink than it looks in these pictures, more like the swatch on my hand above.

Overall Review
I love the colours of both of these and i do not regret purchasing them, however, as with every product, i have found a few pros and cons to these which i will list for you now :):

PROS
Beautiful colour selection
Smell really nice, similar to Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks in my opinion
Pretty Packaging & Names
Really pigmented
Nice change from a normal gloss or lipstick
Not sticky

CONS
Messy
Don't have that long a staying power on the lips
Don't dry

Adding comments to the cons, i would say that what really annoys me about these products are they are messy, i apply the product, sometimes go a bit overboard, and i literally find it every where! All over my teeth and face and it's unfixable so i just have to start again.

I also don't like how they stay wet. I know they are not a lipstick and that's fine, and i love that they are not sticky like a lot of lip glosses, but i just find they are a bit too wet. This also means that they don't stay on very long in my opinion, as soon as i drink a coffee it's pretty much off, meaning i have to re-apply a few times in a day!

Conclusions
Although i have a few issues with this product, overall i think the colours and pigmentation probably make them a worthwhile buy to me!

I really want Big Bang, but i'm not too sure if i will invest as i honestly prefer lipsticks. I am glad i gave these beauties a go though and i will definitely use up the two i have bought!

Do you own any of the Rimmel Apocalips collection?
Do you find them the same as i do or do you absolutely love them?

Double Haul!

Hello!

Well done to all you beauts who managed a spending ban for the month of January! As you probably know, I am far too much of a shopaholic to manage that! I've been trying to buy less clothing and make-up though, not to much success mind you!

So you guys told me what posts you would like to see from me and included in these suggestions was more hauls! I am able to do these as I spend far too money on crap so here's my recent purchases:

I've separated the items into two different showing trips but all items are fairly recent and you should def be able to still pick everything up if you want something! Here's the first trip:

Right, items included here are:

Denim shirt with chiffon printed sleeve - Primark £12
Eylure Lash Glue - Superdrug £2.99
Pink shoes with patent black toe - Primark Sale £2
Babyliss Volume Waves Styler - Tesco £20

The jewellery items were all in the sale from Matalan:

I got the rose gold spike bracelet for £1.50
The spike, stud and ball set for £1.50
And snog, marry, avoid set for £1!

I think this denim shirt will be really pretty with leggings or tucked into disco pants or something over the spring months, its pretty and the chiffon sleeves give it a cute twist from a normal denim shirt.

The eyelash glue is my essential purchase, I buy this all the time and use it with every set of strip lashes I use whether they are eylure lashes or not as I think it is the best glue and is the only on that I find effective!

The pink shoes will also be cute with some jeans or something into spring and I can't resist anything pink so they had to be mine.

I plan to review the Babyliss volume waves styler soon as I love it, it gives nice subtle waves and is a good alternative to my curling wand that creates quite tight curls.

Lastly, the jewellery. Obviously I'm still obsessed with studs and spikes so I love all of these and the snog, marry, avoid bracelets are just a bit of cheeky fun and I think they're cute!

Annnd, onto my second shopping trip!

The fashion items here include:

JERK top - Primark £4
BAD top - Primark £4
Stud shorts - Primark Sale £5
Mint green mini skirt - H&M Sale £5
Floral peplum top - H&M £9.99
Leopard shoes - Primark Sale £2

So I went pretty sale mental as I'm on a spending limit rather than a ban to see how well I do! I bought the JERK and BAD tops from Primark as I already have two of the GEEK tops from Topshop which I love as they're so comfy and casual and these are so similar that I felt I had nothing to lose for £4 and they'll make good gym tops! I know a lot of people hate these, along with my topshop ones but, I'm not asking anyone else to wear them ;-).

I'm in love with the floral peplum from H&M, so much so that I really want to buy the trousers they have in the same pattern! It goes really well with the denim shorts or the mint skirt for spring/summer which were both a bargain so I'm one happy lady!

The primark shoes are general primark flats. I wear heels most days so these won't be worn that much, just on casual days with some skinny jeans or something, but you can never have enough pairs of shoes right!

Onto beauty, I bought the Rimmel Apocalips from boots for £5.99 each (i think) in Nova and Galaxy. I haven't tried these too much so I will do a review when I have given them a better test, but I love all the colours!

I also picked up the V05 dry backcomb spray and the texturising spray. I will probably do a review on these too but let's just say, I am less than impressed. If you have tried these please let me know your opinions, I'm interested to know if you got on well worth them or not.

Hope you like, what's your favourite item I've purchased?
What have you been buying recently?

MUA Pro-Base Fixing Mist Review!

Hey

I hate spending a lot of time on my face and putting a lot of effort into my makeup, just for it to come off in a few hours, start going patchy and uneven and generally awful by the end of the day.

Because of this, I have tried a few 'fixing' sprays including those such as Urban Decay All Nighter Fixing Spray which i love but its not something I am able to splash out on all the time at £19 a bottle!

When browsing my local superdrug recently I saw this little fixing spray in the MUA counter for £4 (will usually be £5) and thought I would give it a go.

Basically, this is designed to be sprayed over your finished face of makeup in 'horizontal swishing motions' until you feel you have enough coverage and clams to have a staying power of up to 8 hours, so I though I would put this to the test for you guys!

I put on my usual amount of a makeup for a normal day and used the spray as instructed to do so on the bottle. This is what I looked like (the lighting makes me look really white but, there's not much i can do, sad face!):

So four hours after, I had been outside, back inside, eaten lunch, had a coffee, done a few bits around the house. I took a picture of my face as soon as i got back in the house and this is what I looked like (still so bright! I do have bronzer on, it is still on, haha!):

And 8 hours after the application of my makeup, the max this product claims to last, without any touch ups to my make-up, I looked like this:

Some of my lipstick had obviously faded and looked a lot less vibrant in real life but i do have to eat and drink and no fixing-spray can stop that, haha! I won't lie to you so i will say i did put a bit more coloured lip gloss on after a little while, that's the only touch up i did! I also apologise for the crap pictures, the lighting is never on my side. I do have bronzer and blusher on which you can't really tell but, they stayed on pretty well all day with not much fade.

Overall, I quite like this product. In all honesty I think it lasts just as long as more expensive brands. I personally feel however, that the staying power of all products of this kind depend on what type/brand/amount of makeup you are wearing.

I do not regret this purchase and I think for the price it is a good little product and I would most likely purchase it again. I have noticed other brands, such as Collection, have a spray like this out at the moment and so I may have to give that a go too and have a little comparison!

Do you use products like this? If so let me know about them!
