Happy Birthday!

Hello All♥

This is the most belated Birthday haul ever but, i thought i would quickly show you all what i got for my birthday! I think you all know me by now to know that i am in no way bragging, i'm extremely grateful for everything i receive from anyone and i am doing this post to show my appreciation not to brag or anything like that! So here goes!

So firstly my mam bought me this beautiful Topshop jacket which i have wanted for the longest time but just didn't want to part with £60 for it, so my beautiful mother bought it for me. 

My little sister (not so little) bought me these amazzzing Miss Selfridge shorts:

And these crazy presents, very typical of my sister and I:

I love these presents, she knows me too well! 

My love for moustaches will never end! My friends and I went out for my birthday and we each wore a moustache on our fingers hence why a few are missing in the picture.

Ok, my step-dad and my mum put a little box together for me filled with loads of the things i love! I love little cute thoughtful presents like this! As it was full of little goodies i've only included a little sample of pictures of what was inside as i would be here all day if i were to show you everything!

Then, my lovely boyfriend gave me loads of beautiful things including this massive lot:

I was in love with both of these Mean Girls themed tops and i had no idea he was getting me the shoes but he knows me too well, i love them!

However some of my fave presents aside from my mums and my sisters, were these two from Sean:

Annnnd...

Amazing crystal bra. I am overly in love with this, what girl wouldn't like a crystal encrusted, sequinned, beaded bra? It looks so beautiful under low arm-holed tops or low cut, backless tops and makes a statement to simple outfits. I am yet to wear it out but when i do i will be sure to post how i style it!

Poundland Purchases!

So i don't know about any of you guys but i really love to have a look in Poundland. It often has little bits and bobs that are well worth picking up as they are much more expensive everywhere else! 

So, while i was in town the other day i decided to pop in and have a little look. I resisted buying loads and loads of stuff but i did pick up a few thing which i'll share with you guys!

On this trip i picked up all of the above for £1 each. 

The first thing is a gold dazzle eye-dust by colour addict called 'Gold Digger'. 

It is a beautiful colour, i've been looking for a gold eye product for ages so i thought it would give this one a go. The only downfall of this i think, is that it is a really loose powder and litterally gets everywhere, so i'd advise wearing pjammas or something while you're applying and do your eyes before you finish off your face!

This is just one swipe of it across my hand and although you can't see quite how shimmery it is it does show how pretty and quite subtle the colour is just using a little product.

I also picked up two nail polishes, the first one is this in 'Ariel' from Chit Chat.

This polish looks really really lovely in the bottle, however, on the nail it is actually a bit of a let down and is really just a blue-glitter top coat! I was a bit disappointed with this to be fair as i thought it would be a bit more coverage and it also takes ages to dry and smells really strong!

With just one coat (ignore the chipped gold underneath!)

I do actually think this polish would be really nice with a blue base colour or a green or something rather than just on my natural nail but i still don't absolutely love it. At least i don't feel like i wasted loads of money on it!

I also got this one by Revlon Matte Suede in 507 'Fire Fox':

I really like the colour, its a sort of shimmery red with tiny tiny bits of glitter in it. It does dry matte which i'm loving just now:

This picture doesn't really show how matte it dries as this had to be taken with my camera flash on! I love anything matte just now from lipsticks to nail polishes so i love the finish of this! If you didn't want it to be matte however you could always shove a shiny top-coat over it. It's a lovely colour, i love the finish and it dries quite fast!

Then, i bought one more eye product from Rimmel London:

This is the Rimmel Eyeful Glistening Eye Crayon in shade 100 'Girls Only'. It's a really sheer pink shiny colour and looks lovely on the eyes.

Pretty pretty, i've been wearing this with a light browny colour blended to the corners and the crease of my eye and it looks really subtle and nice! It's quite creamy so i would advise using an eye primer before applying to stop it creasing throughout the day.

Annnnd that's all i picked up in Poundland this time!

Nail Diaries #2!

I've been doing my nails again this week and i love this nail polish so much that i'm making it my second nail diary feature!

I bought 'Northern Lights' from the Wonderland Collection by Models Own as well as 'Sterling Silver' as Boots currently have a buy one get second half price offer on all cosmetics, eyelashes and nails.

This post is going to focus only on the 'Northern Lights' polish (the right hand bottle)!

It's a really really sparkly polish with a pink base tone. You can also get this in 'Southern Lights' which is as glittery but with more of a purple base.

It is a beautiful colour for winter and it really is very sparkly, especially under bright lights. The picture above shows the colour after two coats of polish with no base colour or anything just the polish alone. 

The only thing with this nail polish is that when dry it does feel really bitty due to the glitter. This doesn't bother me but i know other people that it does. You can solve this by using a topcoat though which i did use the day after i had applied the polish to stop it from chipping and thankfully it didn't effect the glittery appearance of the polish like applying a topcoat sometimes does.

Anyway, i've been wearing this polish since last Sunday and it still looks like this:

So if you're after a new glitter nail polish for the Christmas period i really reccomend this by Models Own, they are cheap as chips at only £5 each and if you pop into boots soon you'll be able to pick another one up for just £2.50!

Nail Diaries!

I'm thinking of starting a nail art diary where i will post a nail design of mine every few days (not sure exactly how often yet) and explain how the look was created if you want to replicate it. I am in no way a nail expert but i do like my designs, i love doing my nails and i love seeing other people's designs, so i thought i would share my own in a sort of diary!

This week, i'm going to feature an easy peasy design of how i've had my nails for the past little while:

To create this look, what i did was firstly stick on french manicure false nails (i can't find the exact ones i used online but you can buy french mani nails anywhere - boots, superdrug, semi-chem etc.) I love false nails and although i fully know how bad they can be for your nails after repetitive use i still always use them. I do however take proper care of my nails when i do not have falsies on using cuticle oils and strengtheners etc. 

Glue the false nails on all fingers, except the two with the flowers. 

The flower nails i have used in these pictures are a complete cheat as i used four nails out of a set i bought from Matalan. Previously however, doing the almost exact same design, i have used 3d flowers similar to the Matalan ones from ebay here and rhinestones like these ones here to create the same look just gluing them to the nail like the picture above with nail glue. 

This time i used the ones already made from Matalan because in the packet, despite it being very cheap, does not even contain enough nail sizes to cover both hands in the full design! I had to use up some of these nails somehow therefore, i just used them for this rather than doing them myself using ebay ones as i usually would. 

You can get different flowers and rhinestones etc from many different nail sites online. One of my favourite sites for nail art items is Sparklynails.co.uk, they are really cheap, give you useful tips, 'how to' videos and they have a great range of products!

Anyway, to get the glitter effect on the rest of the nails i used Nailene Perfect Tips Polish Guides - here to prevent glitter from getting on the already french tips. To do this, basically just place the tip guide so that it's bottom curve matches up the the bottom curve of the tip already on the nail. 

Alternatively, if your nails are not already french manicured you can use the tip guides to paint your own tips, wait until this dries, then place another tip guide at the bottom to protect the tip while glittering!

Then get a piece of paper or an empty box to catch all the fall out glitter because this bit can get a bit messy! All you want to do is place your hand in the box or over the paper and paint a clear top-coat or base-coat to your nails avoiding the tip area which should be protected by the tip-guide. Then, while this coat is still wet, simply pour glitter all over the nail and repeat this to the remaining nails! I have used a pink glitter this time but i have done this look using silver and blue glitter too all of which i got from Sparklynails.co.uk - here. They do loads of different kinds of glitter but the type i have used in this particular look is called 'Rose Nail Art Glitter Dust'.

Then using a top-coat i just put a quick layer over the glitter and roll the nail in the excess fall out for more coverage. Then when this all dries i just lightly pat the glitter and add another quick topcoat to seal it all in!

Et voila! Nail look complete!

Style Me!

This weekend started as a bit of a let down which i'll quickly explain, so basically i was supposed to go out for Halloween with my friends, but due to illness and lack of money we decided just to not bother! So, needless to say, Saturday was a total bore until my boyfriend got back from a football game and we decided to go out for some strawberry margaritas and fajitas! I didn't get a picture of my outfit but i did get a picture of my posing mug:

Anyway, on Sunday, we went shopping in Glasgow. I didn't take too much money with me as i knew i would just spend it all so i just picked up a few pieces and decided to do a style me with one of them!

Basically, i'm going to show you a dress i bought from H&M and i'm going to pick pieces i own that i would wear with it to dress it up for a night look, and down for a day look.. Then i want you to tell me how you would style it!

I am unable to find the dress on the H&M website so i'm just going to use my own pictures and hope it portrays it as beautiful as it actually is!

Lighting again was not on my side so the photos show the dress a blueish colour up close when in reality it is more of a foresty, emerald green. I never go for green, in fact i hardly own any but i loved this dress!

So, onto styling it. For a day look, i decided that i would style it like this:

I've added a brown belt (New Look) to make the dress more casual, a brown handbag (vintage) and black studded flats (Primark). Since it is winter now in the UK i would probably throw my leather jacket or black blazer on over and maybe a scarf or snood and some black tights!

Now for night!

So for a night look i decided to pair the dress with my glittery stiletto heeled shoes (Schuh), matching clutch bag (Matalan) and diamante studded belt (River Island). I would probably throw my black blazer on too just to get to where ever i was going :).

Small(ish) Fashion & Beauty Haul!

I have been shopping, again, for some basics for layering this winter and a few cheap and cheerful make-up pieces! The shops have some really nice bits and pieces in just now but (although this may just be me) i'm finding that everything seems to have the same patterns or same colours, and frankly, i just find them a bit boring now! So rather than go all out on clothing i just popped to Primark, Boots, Superdrug, Matalan and Asda and picked up a few cheapy bits :).

So this is what i picked up! Grey sequined snood from Primark (£5), Polka dot bra from Matalan (£3 in sale), Two plain basic tees in Plum and Red from Primark (£3 each), Two MUA eye shadow palettes from Superdrug ('Undressed' £3 & 'Poptastic' £4), Sparkly Clutch from Matalan (£4), Light Pink coloured skinny jeans from Primark (£5 from £11), Animal print faux fur ear muffs from Primark (£3), Penguin mitts also from Primark (£2), two Kate Moss Matte Lipsticks for Rimmel from Asda (£4 each on offer) and Cherry Carmex from Superdrug (£1.95, half price for a limited time).

Although i didn't pick up much i really like all of the pieces i got and have been using the (childish yet amazing!) penguin gloves and the ear muffs all weekend! The tee-shirts are just plain and simple and are easy to layer with different coats and jeans, leggings, disco pants etc! And, the glittery clutch (which is much more glittery than the pics make out!) was a real bargain at only £4 and will be lovely with a simple LBD and my perfectly matched glittery shoes from Schuh on Christmas nights out!

I had wanted the Matte Kate Moss for Rimmel lipstick in shade 110 since i had seen it as i love red lips and think they suit anyone and any skin tone!

However, when i went to buy this shade, i fell in love with shade 107 of the collection:

Since Asda had them for £4 each i just bought both, and i absolutely love them both! I will get onto showing you these on the lips and swatching both in another post if you want to see a review on them?

While i was in Superdrug, i picked up two lip liners as i don't really have many and the ones i do own are mostly pinks and nudes.

I bought these two in "Red Drama" and "Brooding Plum" from MUA as i thought they went really really well with the Kate Moss lipsticks and they look lovely on the lips despite their really cheap price tag at only £1 each.

Still on make-up but moving away from lips, I have been thinking about my eyebrows lately. I hardly have any 'real' eyebrows and they just refuse to grow, they have no shape and are just really really thin and rubbish! So every day i fill in and extend my eyebrows and have used many different kits from HD Brows, Gosh's Brow Kit and Gel to Benefits Browzing's and have found the best product for me to actually be a brow pencil by Tesco's make-up range 'Vivo' which costs me £1.50! However, drawing and shaping my eyebrows every single day, although essential, takes up a bit of time! Therefore, i though i would try a new (for me anyway) product which i seen on twitter from InstantEyes.co.uk.

These are eyebrow tattoos! (£3.99 for set of three). I am however, unable to tell you how good or bad these are as i haven't used them yet because i'm waiting for a day when i am actually doing something to try them out! I am excited to see how they work out for me and i shall keep you updated on how i get on!

Annnnd, i am going to stop rambling on about my exciting (or not so!) weeks purchases now!
